On March 21st, Mr. Dimitris Papazacharias, a physical education teacher from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, visited SLU for an exchange activity under the Erasmus Plus project for teaching staff mobility by the European Union. Organized and arranged by the InternationalOffice, Dimitris Papazacharias conducted a five-day study and exchange at School of Physical Education and Health, SLU.

Mr. Dimitris Papazacharias teaches at the School of Drama at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece, where he is responsible for teaching stage movement design. He coached SLU fencing and taekwondo athletes, discussed and exchanged teaching experiences with the instructors, visited the rowing base, experienced water sports, and practiced skills with the taekwondo team members. Impressed by the strong sports culture at our university, Dimitris Papazacharias expressed that he gained a lot from this Erasmus Plus project exchange and welcomed colleagues from our university to visit Greece for exchanges.

The Erasmus program is a higher education exchange program implemented by the European Union among its member countries, with the EU fully funding the trainees' expenses. Since 2014, the program has been expanded for the first time to include exchanges with countries and regions outside Europe, becoming the Erasmus Plus program. As a result, our university has cooperated with higher education institutions from Belt and Road countries such as Poland, Bulgaria, and Greece, and has been approved for 14 rounds of the Erasmus Plus program for teacher and student mobility, with a total of 21 people participating in project exchanges, teaching, and academic cooperation activities.

The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki is the second-ranked well-known university in Greece. Since 2018, SLU has jointly applied for and implemented the Erasmus+ program for teacher and student mobility with this institution.
