On July 6th, Chen Jie, a Standing Committee Member of the University Council of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) and Vice President of SLU, led a delegation from SLU to visit BDO. The two parties held a ceremony for signing a framework agreement on strategic cooperation between the industry, academia and research institutions. Vice Chairman and General Manager of BDO Gao Yu, Senior Management Consultant of BDO Zhou Qi, Head of BDO’s Ningbo Branch Xing Jianliang, and leadership of SLU’s School of Finance and Public Administration attended the event. Zhou Qi chaired the meeting.
Chen Jie said that this year marks the 95th anniversary of the establishment of SLU and the 130th anniversary of Mr. Pan Xulun’s birth, and that the two parties once again renewed the strategic cooperation framework agreement, holding extremely special significance. Given that the taxation programme is the cornerstone of the School of Finance and Public Administration, renewing the agreement would help accurately address the deep-seated demand for outstanding taxation professionals to drive economic and social development in Shanghai and the whole country and optimize the structure of academic disciplines, enhance industry-education integration and focus on building a university for modern digital finance and taxation industry to jointly put in place a collaborative education mechanism between academia and industry, and facilitate the implementation of customized talent development and address the shortage of high-quality applied taxation professionals in the taxation industry and business community to contribute to regional economic and social development.
Gao Yu said that BDO and SLU share the name “Lixin” and are jointly involved in the integrity-driven mission, and that BDO, as an essential part of the diversified Lixin community, was deeply honored torenewthe strategic cooperation agreement with SLU, which not only continues the legacy of Mr. Pan Xulun’s establishment of the “Three-in-One” educational model under the Lixin name in 1928 but also signifies the deepening and expansion of the cooperation between SLU and the business community in the new era and on a new journey, which would be bound to have profound significance and impact.
Zhou Qi, BDO’s Senior Management Consultant, introduced the historical background of cooperation between the two parties and the current development status and advantages of BDO, and proposed even closer interactions and collaborations between BDO and the School of Finance and Public Administration.
The two parties signed an agreement on strategic cooperation between the industry, academia and research institutions. After the meeting, Chen Jie and her delegation were ushered by the staff to visit BDO’s workplace and feel its culture. They also extended their regards to SLU’s alumni working at the firm.
This signing has further deepened the cooperation between the two parties and advanced the implementation of the programme for visiting enterprises and expanding students’ practical experiences. In the era of the digital economy, both educational institutions and industries are facing the pressure for ongoing transformations. With collaboration, educational institutions and industries can jointly shoulder the social responsibility of nurturing talents and contribute to national and social development.
