On July 10th, the 2023 National Youth Fencing Championships and the Fencing Preliminaries of the First National Student (Youth) Games (Open Group) kicked off in Yangzhou. The event lasted for six days, with nearly 700 young fencing talents from more than 40 teams across the country gathering in the city for a showdown among young fencers. During the competition, Zhao Rongshan, Standing Committee Member of the University Council of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) and Vice President of SLU, visited the team on behalf of SLU and observed the competition in Yangzhou.
After five days of competition, Cai Jinhui and Yin Xiaopeng from SLU’sShanghaiFoil Team, and Lv Weiqiao and Gu Yuang from the reserve team, won the silver medal in the Men’s Foil Team event. Wu Qiu’an from SLU’s Shanghai Foil Team, and Zhu Linlin, Zhuang Xinyi, and Liu Hanyuxin from the reserve team, secured the fifth place in the Women’s Foil Team event. They will represent Shanghai’s Yangpu District in the finals of the First National Student (Youth) Games due in November, this year in Guangxi.
