The 2022 AACSB Asia Pacific Annual Conference 2022 was held in Singapore from June 8th to 10th. More than 150 business school deans, professors and other representatives from the Asia Pacific region and members from the AACSB headquarters attended the conference, where they shared their experience and lessons learnt around how to cultivate better business talents for the new era.
Professor Wang Xiaoguang, Dean of the School of Business Administration of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU), was invited to attend the conference and delivered a keynote speech via a video link titled “Participating in Local Practice by Impact Intellectual Contribution”, where he introduced in detail the overall strategic practice of SLU’s commitment to involvement in local social and economic activities through impactful intellectual contribution, and elaborated on the contribution of the SLU School of Business Administration to social and economic development in Shanghai, the efforts it had made to deliver the mission of running an application-oriented school, and what it had done to improve its social influence with high-quality intellectual achievements.
Professor Wang’s speech at the AACSB Asia Pacific Annual Conference, a high-level international education platform, demonstrated our educational exploration to business school peers in the Asia Pacific region, reflecting our slogan of making good use of the international stage to tell the SLU stories.
Founded in the United States in 1916, the AACSB was jointly initiated by business schools of 17 well-known universities, including Columbia University, Cornell University and Harvard University. After more than 100 years of development, its norms and evaluation standards have become the authoritative benchmark of global management education. Less than 6% of business schools in the world have received AACSB certification. The School of Business Administration of SLU received the AACSB international certification in February 2022, giving it the longest period of certification (5 years). SLU has thus become one of the 38 universities in China that have received the certification, and is also the first local university of finance and economics in China that has been awarded the AACSB international certification.
