On the afternoon of December 22nd, 2021, the ceremony for establishing the Scientific Research and Discipline Development Commission of the Academic Committee of theShanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU)and its first meeting were held on the Shangchuan Road Campus. Standing Committee Member of the SLU University Council, Chen Jie, Vice President and President of the commission, chaired the meeting, which was attended by all the new members of the commission and staff of its secretariat.
Chen gave a brief introduction to the new members of the commission and expressed her congratulations on behalf of SLU. She talked about scientific research and discipline development as the key to substantial progress of SLU that directly relates to its contribution to the society and its popularity, visibility and impact. She asked all new members of the commission to be politically correct to promote scientific research and discipline development of SLU, assume their responsibilities to encourage endogenous development of its scientific research and academic disciplines, lead by example for a better academic atmosphere and contribute more ideas to its scientific research and discipline development.
Professor Shao Lili from School of Accounting and Professor Shao Junhang from School of Foreign Languages delivered their speeches on behalf of new members of the commission. The ceremony was followed by the first meeting of the new commission, where theConstitution of the Scientific Research and Discipline Development Commission of the Academic Committee of theShanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (Draft)and theRules of Procedure forthe Scientific Research and Discipline Development Commission of the Academic Committee of theShanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (Draft)were adopted.
As one of the four commissions under the SLU Academic Committee, the Scientific Research and Discipline Development Commission is tasked with decision-making, deliberation, evaluation and consulting in scientific research and discipline development under the guidance and supervision of the SLU Academic Committee. It is an integral part of SLU’s “1+4” system of academic governance.
