The 6th China University Rowing Championship and the 31st World University Summer Games Rowing Trials were held by the Tianfei Lake in Fenghua District of Ningbo from October 29th to 31st. The rowing team of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) sent 13 athletes for the competition, and took home medals under the guidance of SLU coaches He Yi and Zhou Hang, including the gold medal of the lightweight women’s double sculls, the gold medal of the lightweight men’s double sculls, the bronze medal of the mixed quadruple sculls, the bronze medal of the men’s four and the bronze medal of the men’s eight with coxswain. This is the first time that our rowing team has won the championship since it was established in 2017.

The athletes also included the students from 21 universities such as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Zhejiang University. The national rowing competition for university students reopened after being suspended for over a year due to COVID-19. Despite the challenges posed by a resurgence of covid cases and the harsh conditions, all the athletes worked hard and revealed the best of themselves.
