SLU Starts Employment Support Program for the 2022 New Graduates

On the afternoon of September 15, 2021, Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) held the Kickoff Meeting on Employment Support for the 2022 new graduatesand the Workshop on Training Student Supervisors for the 2022 new graduatesat the Student Center on the Pudong Campus of SLU in Shanghai. Vice Chair of the University Council and Vice President of SLU Wang Junhua attended the meeting and delivered a speech, where the deputy secretaries of all secondary educational institutions of SLU, student supervisors for the 2022 new graduates, and the staff of the Admission and Employment Office participated.


Wang started by giving credit to the 2021 SLU graduates for turning the tables and performing better than the graduates in Shanghai on average in terms of employment and by expressing gratitude to the staff of SLU and its secondary educational institutionswho had been providing support forthe employment of graduates for their dedication and hard work. He proposed four recommendations at the meeting for supporting the employment of the 2022 new graduates. First, identify the situation, define the matrix of responsibilities, prioritize employment, and develop a detailed employment support plan. Second, plan early, act early, follow the patterns of employment, and attend to key timelines. Third, introduce effective measures and ensure their implementation, keep abreast of various employment policies and communicate and interpret them, explore employment resources, and establish a structure that involves all staff members and the whole process. Fourth, keep detailed and targeted in optimizing employment services, customize employment support for each student, deliver more specific, tailor-made, and targeted educational and career guidance and services, and help students develop positive values for employment. He highlighted multiple challenges still confronting SLU in terms of employment for its graduates and urged all staff members concerned to get a good start and lay a solid foundation at the outset of the new semester in a concerted effort to attain the goal of higher employment rates and better employment for the 2022 new graduates.


At the meeting, staff from the Admission and Employment Office provided an introduction and answered questions in regards to submittal and review of the sources of the 2022 new graduates, development of their employment recommendations, distribution of subsidies to employment and entrepreneurship, as well as uploads to the “Student Employment Policy” module in the job network of SLU.


The meeting also marks the start of the employment support program for the 2022 new graduates. SLU will soon publish a plan for implementing the employment support program for the year 2022, update the “Student Employment Policy” module, and organize a range of recruitment activities such as on-campus job fairs and recruitmentinformationsessions.
