SLU Gets Approval for Building Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center

The Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center for Financial Services in the Scientific and Technological Innovation Industry in the Yangtze River Delta (the Collaborative Innovation Center) that Vice Chair of the University Council of Shanghai Lixin University of Accounting and Finance (SLU) and President of SLU Yang Li has led the efforts to present for approval has been established as one of the new Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Centers.


The Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center Project is initiatedby the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission to implement the Shanghai University Innovation Sourcing Capacity Building Program, aimed at establishing a strong team of high-level, leading, and innovative talents for working on the latest scientific research and meeting corporate technology needs, tackling major challenges in national and Shanghai’s economic and social development and common challenges regarding key technologies for industrial development, and supporting universities to meet major demands of China and Shanghai and promote innovative development of industries.


The Collaborative Innovation Center integrates all the resources of SLU and works in collaborationwith the Shanghai Lingang Group, the Lin-gang Special Area Administration, and the Joint Office of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta. With the leading academic disciplines of SLU and the existing research in the development of scientific and technological innovation industries for financial services, based on the distinctive research and practical needs of the stakeholders in regards to the construction of the Dishui Lake Financial Bay (Lingang), the construction of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta, and finance-driven scientific and technological innovation (the real economy), the Collaborative Innovation Center seeks to build on China’s national major strategy to establish a leading collaborative innovation center for financial services in the scientific and technological innovation industry in the Yangtze River Delta, build an inter-sectoral, interdisciplinary, and innovative team of talents, encourage the integration of various disciplines, increase scientific research collaboration, and enhance the capacity of talents to innovate.


The Collaborative Innovation Center will integrate off-campus with on-campus resources and domestic with international resources to contribute to the establishment of five centers of Shanghai and the Pilot Free Trade Zone Lin-gang Special Area, and build a diverse and collaborative innovation model that involves the government, industries, the academia, and research institutions. It conducts collaborative innovation based on the major demands in major areas of major national strategies such as the open economic system innovation and risk pressure test for the Dishui Lake Financial Bay, the assessment and data monitoring for industry-financeintegration of the G60 S&T Innovation Valley of Yangtze River Delta, and innovation for development models of scientific innovation industries for financial services. With the collaborative model and institutional innovation, talent development and corporate service innovation, and governance and result application innovation, it seeks to enable universities to play a foundational and leading role in the regional innovation system. And in-depth cooperation will be carried out with the government, scientific research institutions, and the business community, to build strategic alliances, promote sharing of resources, make breakthroughs in key areas, enhance SLU’s influence in national and regional innovation systems, and make the Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center for Financial Services in the Scientific and Technological Innovation Industry in the Yangtze River Delta a leading platform for collaborative research and talent development in China for financial services in the scientific innovation industry for demonstration purposes.


The approval for building the Shanghai Collaborative Innovation Center is one of the key progress that SLU has made for building a high-level and application-oriented university, and helps promote interdisciplinary development of SLU and enhance its capabilities of knowledge innovation and services.
