Course introduction:
Course Description: Information, being considered as an important resource, has become an essential element for corporations to improve efficiency and gain competitive advantage. Since it can be applied in nearly all the business processes, information system can be seen as an enabler for business reform, making dynamic integration with the value chain of enterprises. Therefore, it is a significant challenge for management to exploit information resource efficiently and use information system rationally, in order to support the working and decision making of operational, management and strategic level of the corporations, so that competitive advantage will be obtained. This course is mainly focused on helping students to comprehend the social-technological perspective of information system architecture based on globalization and sustainable development, to gain overall knowledge of information systems, such as TPS, MIS, DSS and EIS, along with the corresponding transformation of organization structures and management methods in real management activities, and to analyze a variety of problems, relating to each phase of the development of information system (planning, analyzing, designing, implementing and operating), correctly and accurately.
