Course Introduction:
Principles of Insurance is a professional basic course for Finance, Insurance and Actuarial Science. It mainly focuses on the basic theories and concepts of risk and insurance. Based on new achievements of current insurance theoretical research and relevant insurance laws at home and abroad, it introduce insurance science systematically. Through the course, students will be able to master the basic knowledge and skills of insurance on the premise of having a solid theoretical foundation, so as to lay a foundation for learning other professional courses in the future.
This course consists of four parts. The first part is the basic chapter, which mainly introduces the basic concepts of risk, risk management and insurance, the emergence and development of insurance, insurance contract and its basic principles. The second part is the practical chapter, which mainly introduces the basic contents of property insurance, life insurance, reinsurance, policy insurance and social insurance business. The third part is the business chapter, which mainly introduces the calculation of insurance premium rates and the business operation process of insurance companies. The fourth part is the market chapter, which mainly introduces the composition of the insurance market, supply and demand, and the main content of insurance regulation.
