To further expand the activities of promoting Chinese language and culture held by Confucius Classroom jointly established by our university and International Business Academy (IBA), and to set the Confucius Classroom to be Confucius Institute, through preliminary preparation and communication of the School of International Exchange with Shanghai Education Committee, headquarters of Confucius Institute/Confucius Institute Headquarters, the summer camp in China of Confucius Classroom jointly established by our university and International Business Academy (IBA) was held at our university from June 30thto July 12th. When the summer camp of the same period was rounded off last year, it was highly praised by IBA and teachers and students, and the number of students participating in the activity this year has almost doubled.

During the period of the activity, the students of summer camp not only learned Chinese language, Chinese Characters and Chinese Calligraphy, paper cuttings, Hulusi -play , etc., but also visited places such as Yu Garden, the museum, science and technology museum, Jing'an Temple, the Bund and Zhujiajiao Ancient Town in Shanghai as well as the Sun Yat-sen’s Mausoleum and Confucius Temple ,etc. in Nanjing, and they learned the Chinese Culture and tried traditional Chinese food such as dumplings, steamed stuffed buns, pancakes and hot pots, etc. They also tried using Wechat Payment and traveled by subway to feel the rhythm of China's economic development, and the unique glamor of combination of tradition with modernity in China’s metropolis.

The experience of study, practice and staying of less than two weeks in China impressed the students of the summer camp a lot and they believed that Chinese people are friendly and cordial, and this experience enhanced their understanding and knowledge about our university, about Shanghai and China. These students said that, when they would go home, they would share what they have seen and heard in China with their classmates, friends and family, and would work hard to learn Chinese language and culture.
