A Delegation Led by the Rector of Pakistan Bahria University Visited Lixin

On august 24, Rector Vice Admiral Tanveer Faiz, Director of Academic Affairs Rear Admiral Khawaja Shahid Saeed, and Assistant Director Demiral Ikram of Foreign Collaboration Programs of Pakistan Bahria University visited our university. Vice President Chen Jingying of Lixin met escorted guests in Pudong Campus. The two sides had a friendly discussion on the communication between faculties and students of two universities, trade, scientific and educational research on the “Belt & Road”, and joint holding of international conferences. During the meeting, the two parties expressed their strong cooperative willingness and interests in the research on Sino-Pakistan Economic Corridor and decided to sign a new memorandum of cooperation.

The idea of “Sino-Pakistan Economic Corridor” was proposed by Premier Li Keqiang when he visited Pakistan in 05 2013. The two countries will make joint efforts to get through the 4,625km long major transportation path from Urumuqi and Kashgar in Xinjiang, China to Karachi and Gwadar Port in Pakistan, and further strengthen the Sino-Pakistan communication and stimulate the joint development of both sides.

Bahria University is a comprehensive university in Pakistan with campuses in Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore.

Dean Tu Liping of the School of Foreign Languages and Associate Dean Han Mei of the School of International Exchange participated in the meeting.
