In the afternoon of April 24, Confucius Classroom of our University at International Business Academy (IBA, Denmark) held the Second Sino-Denmark Business Forum in the auditorium of IBA. With the theme of “Effective Cooperation and Exchange with Chinese Companies”, the forum was chaired by Niels Egelund, President of IBA, and speeches delivered by Bi Yuping, Executive President of Ocean Favour Development Co. Ltd., Annette Dahl, Managing Director and Country Specialist in China of C3 Consulting, and Heidi Larsen, CEO of Plus 7. There are a total of 110 attendees, including Mr. Ren Mingze and Ms. Xie Lisha, Chinese ambassadors to Denmark, and some from local business circles as well as some teachers and students of IBA.
By summarizing their experience in their life and work in China, and Europe and Sino-Euro business cooperation and exchange, the three speakers provided audiences with the insight into the cultural differences between Chinese enterprises and Danish enterprises in cooperation from two perspectives of China and Denmark. They also talked about how to understand and overcome such differences for more effectively win-win situation, and shared their successful stories about Sino-Danish business cooperation. During the Q&A session, three guests interacted with the audiences in a lively atmosphere.
Ren Mingze showed the promotional film on the China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai in November, and invited the enterprises on the scene to attend the Expo which aroused considerable attention from them. Kolding is a center of Danish enterprises; Zapaya and Louise Poulsen, two famous enterprises presenting at the forum, have had partnerships with Chinese enterprises for years. Since 2002, Zapaya has imported shoes from China and sold them through the retail chains in Denmark and Germany. Louise Poulsen is a famous Danish lamp design company that has cooperated with Chinese enterprises extensively.
This forum came into the spotlight in Kolding, and was covered by Jyllands Posten, an influential paper in Denmark, before and after the event. The forum has promoted Danish people’s understanding of Chinese enterprises and culture, and will facilitate more Sino-Danish cooperation and exchange.
