In the afternoon on October 28 (local time), theinaugurating ceremony for the Confucius Classroom at International BusinessAcademy was held in Kolding, Denmark. The Chinese Embassy in Denmark, Ministryof Education in Denmark, Mayor of Kolding, Denmark, politicians on variouslevels, famous enterprises, representatives from all walks of life locally,leaders of Denmark International Business Academy, SFU Vice President CHENJingying et al. with a total of more than 100 persons were present at theinaugurating ceremony.
ZHANG Yun, First Secretary ofEducation Unit of the Chinese Embassy in Denmark, delivered a speech and readout a letter of congratulation from Hanban. Vice President CHEN Jingying and RectorNiels Egelund of International Business Academy jointly unveiled the name platefor Confucius Classroom and made a speech, noting that SFU and InternationalBusiness Academy would make use of Confucius Classroom as a platform to drivetwo sides in complementing each other’s advantages, promote the cooperation andexchange between both parties in order to, under the joint efforts of relevantparties, make a positive contribution to facilitating Danish people to learnChinese language and understand Chinese culture, enhancing the friendshipbetween people in China and Denmark and boosting the cooperation of bothnations in modern finance field. The Mayor of Kolding, Denmark Mr. JornPedersen made a speech, expressing his sincere congratulations and fullexpectations to the cooperation with SFU in education program. The ceremony waspresided over by Prefessor Niels Egelund, Rector of International BusinessAcademy. The successful holding of unveiling ceremony marked that the firstConfucius Classroom of SFU in foreign countries was officially established.
Professor CHEN Wenjun, Executive Director of Shanghai Sci-Tech& Finance Research Center introduced the new development of China’s internetfinance, scientific and technological finance at the inaugurating ceremony andcarried out an in-depth exchange and exploration on cooperation of both sidesin scientific research, think tank service and industrial service fields duringthe development by means of financial features of Confucius Classroom.
Chinese students had a presentation and performance ofHan culture at the ceremony, which have won the warm welcome and high appraisalof more than 100 Danish people and distinguished guests who attended the event.
Before the inaugurating ceremony, the first ConfuciusBoard Meeting was successfully held at IBA, and thoroughly discussed the agendas,which set a comprehensive working plan for the Confucius Classroom at IBA.
